O2's XDA IIs, the subject of this review, is more PDA than
cellphone and is roughly the size of a regular Pocket PC with
a touchscreen.
Its upcoming Xphone II, however, is more cellphone than PDA
for users who lean that way.
The XDA IIs comes close to being the ultimate wireless handheld,
featuring quad-band GSM(Global System for Mobile communications), Class 8 and 10 General
Packet Radio Service (GPRS), WiFi and Bluetooth. |
 |
 |
 |
This means that the XDA II mini is primarily a Pocket PC (touchscreen
interface and all) with a built-in phone.
This hybrid device is O2's attempt at finding the right
balance between the functionalities of a Pocket PC and the comfortable
size of a cellphone. |

The Xphone II has an O2 Connect application that will automatically
set your phone’s settings for GPRS and MMS once you choose
your service provider.
One thing I really liked about the Xphone II is that searching
through contacts is very, very fast, since the phone auto searches
through your contacts list as you tap out a name (PalmOne users
will recognise this as there is a similar feature found on some
of the company’s handhelds) – just start tapping
out the letters of a person’s name and the phone will
narrow down the contacts list until only one is left.
Accessing all the other phone functions are fine, though getting
to the other applications like Calendar, Notes, Multimedia Album
etc, requires you to go through a lot of menus before you get
to what you want – a bit difficult, but unavoidable, considering
the phone has so many features.

A compact and easy-to-use 3G smartphone with versatile mobile
photography, personal productivity and entertainment features.
Incorporating a complete smartphone feature set, as well as
a 2 megapixel camera, flash and front camera for video calling,
the Nokia N70
also comes equipped with stereo FM radio, a digital music player
and new 3D games. |

The 9500 Communicator has many strong points, especially the
wide range of mobility options for data and voice communications.
The office applications, e-mail, web browser and PIM (personal
information management) also enable personal productivity anytime,
anywhere. |

It has been a rather long wait for the new colour-screen version
of the Nokia Communicator.
The previous 9210 and 9210i models were good, but rather bulky
compared to what is available on the market right now.
And Nokia introduces two Communicators this year, the 9500 and
the slightly scaled down 9300 which we will be looking at here.

The 6630 is a candybar-shaped phone. However, like most recent
Nokia designs, this one has bumps and curves that make it look
unique.
It looks like a pear, if you ask me. |

Nokia 3230 weighs 110 grams and has a size of 109x49x19 so
it is quite comfortable to use. The quality of signal was strong
enough almost everywhere.
In locations, where signal strength
is low, 3230 was working better than several handsets from rival
manufacturers. Phone is tri-band and works in GSM 900/1800/1900
networks. |

the Nokia 7610 is one of the first from a major brand and
probably the most-hyped one at that. The honour of the world’s
first megapixel probably belongs to J-phone of Japan with the
hardware manufactured by Sharp, claiming a resolution of 1144
x 858 pixels.
Surprisingly, the first megapixel phone in the
US is claimed by Audiovox, a brand one does not normally associate
with cutting-edge handsets. |
